Position your right (left) foot for more power!

Small adjustments can do wonders for players at your level, particularly at address. When you set up to your ball, you should be thinking about several keys: posture, alignment and grip. But the often overlooked position of your right (left) foot is critical, because it dictates how far you can turn your hips on the backswing and ultimately determines how much power you can generate.

You probably set your right (left) foot perpendicular to the target line. That's not wrong, but it's difficult to make a full hip turn with your right (left) foot in this position. Try angling out your right (left) foot 20 degrees at address,, something you might already do with your other (leading) foot. This stance provides stability for the upper body and allows your right hip to easily rotate away from the ball for a full turn, translating into more power on your downswing.
